a few days ago, while playing in a normal BF server, a guy was doing some lame stuff wich i wont describe here. a server administrator started getting annoyed about it, and told him to leave. he stayed in the server and kept doin his lame stuff. after a while, the administrator published a cdkey in the main chat, and said "now you better get out of here". is that just a joke, or could it actually be the real cdkey? (it sure looked like it however).

also, these cdkey hashes, is it actually possible to get back to the original cdkey they were "hashed" from?

Through the server manager, we can view your Ip Address, CDKey Hash and your PB Guild number. However, typically, the PB Guild number is unknown to us. I think only the master admin. of the server is able to view it. It may be a feature that has to be enabled. That part I really do not know. It may not be a feature of the build of the server manager we use..Yet there is a spot where it could be shown.

Anyway, I do know that I can view an ip address and CDKey Hash. It is what we use to kick or ban a player off the server. Speaking of wich..most of us server admin. only have the ability to kick or ban from the server.

Horsepower, Packetloss, Cannonfodder.. They are the master admin. Is there a program to backview your real CD key? While I do not know of one. There probably is one. I know there is a program available to view your own CDKey hash.. Its posted in the 'Been Banned' section of the forums.

Anyway, that is all I can tell you about it. I would say the admin. who posted the CDKey Hash was a bit abusive.. There are other ways to get rid of someone.. If he was being a jerk.. just kick him off.. Why waste the time to post a hash. Unless the person who posted the hash was not an admin. but pretending to be one and made up a string of numbers and characters to scare the guy.

I have yet to see anything that will revert a Hash into a CD-Key...and actually, I think you MAY be able to see a players PB GUID by merely typing in pb_plist in the console (I MAY be mistaken on this one, I know it does show up in the pb_SV_plist listing).

I wouldn't worry about it, as I said, I have yet to see anything that can do that.
