Xbox 360 & Xp Mce

So after much debate I bought a copy of XP Media Center. I had tried hooking the 360 up using my mother in laws laptop which had MCE on it, with very poor results. One of the major problems was that she had McAfee installed. So I took a gamble and ordered MCE for my primary machine and did a fresh install.

WOW! It's freaking great. The 360 works flawlessly with MCE. I was able to stream music/photos (which you can do with XP), but the big thing is being able to stream videos. I have a few HD WMV files, and some .ts files (uncompressed HD). They look/sound flawless streaming over my network. Now I don't have to carry my PC in the other room anymore to hook it up to my HDTV. What I'd like to eventually later in the summer is buy a dual tuner HD card and put it in my PC. That way I can dump the Comcast box and do it all off my PC. I have to do some more tests (like playing a full length file), but so far it's working out great.

Just get an HD TV Tuner card and you should be set. Trust me I have a cable card in my TV and they're not ready for mass use. Wait until the 2.0 cards come out in two years or so.
