In anticipation of Intel releasing their Conroe chip, AMD is massively slashing prices. Time to upgrade boys. Check it out:

well if you already have an AMD system, it's a helluva lot cheaper to drop in a new chip for a cheap price and nice upgrade then it is to buy a new mobo/Intel Conroe chip.

i know i'm late to reply but...

you might want to ignore socket 939 motherboards and go for socket am2 motherboards instead.

socket am2 motherboards finally support ddr2 memory rams.

yeah but there's not much of a real world performance increase with the ddr2. if someone was looking to replace their board, i think at this point it would be wiser to go with an Intel Conroe mobo/cpu combo. if someone just wants a quick cheap upgrade to their current 939 or AM2 system, these prices have got to make one salivate. i know i am.
