sony sxrd based projectors are some of the best ones out there but pricey as sxrd is a premium technology only used by sony and jvc.

I ussually do not like DLP for many reasons. Shimmering effects, wobbulation due to spinning wheels, raindbow effect and also. even tho they stated 1080p they only have about 700k mirriors which is 1/3rd of a true 1080. The sxrd systems have 3 individual chips for red, green, blue each with their own full 2.1mill pixel's.

The new sxrd's are also 120hz, compatible with 1080/24p, have v.x.color capable and hdmi 1.3 connections.

Basically futureproofing it.

projectors aren't my style, but they are some of the best video devices out there. you need a dark room and a screen, though. i dont know too much about them, one draw back used to be bulb replacement. very expensive upkeep, but that may have changed now.

that is a pretty good tv talon. we sell it where i work. But again if your talking about keeping the tv for at least 6-7 years look at the sony SXRD series. the a3000 especially.

Avsforums stating prolly the best projection tv made to date.

As to why its good for down the road? 120hz frame rate. 1080/24p ready. hdmi 1.3 connections.

As of right now no broadcast company utilizes that, but Blu-ray does. HD-DVD when you buy their expensive player does also. Also dish and direct tv did recently unveil their new 1080p receivers, but at 1k their not expecting those on market for about 2 years.

you can find the 60a3000 for 2000 or under i believe. and its well worth the difference.

again also immediate differences are the toshiba whiles tating 1080p the dlp chipset it self has 700k mirrors. When your producing 2.1mil pixels that 1/3rd. The sxrd uses 3 seperate chips for red green blue each with a full 2.1 mil.

Pay the extra now man. get th ebtter tv by far.

Also for stryker that is a damn nice projector. sony's got one for 12k as well thats just simply sick.
