Hi! Yesterday when waiting for Remedyz to show up I mentioned a quick knife tournament we had in Finland. Rules and execution were as follows, I think the idea is superb and hope to see such events more.

1. The event was advertised publicly. Rules were announced.
2. Gathering for tournament happened in an Quakenet irc channel.
3. At the announced time the server address and password were announced
4. The server had 23 slots: 3 judges/tv crew, and 20 competitors.
5. First 20 to get on the server were in the competition (I was one of the fastest to type)
6. Map was Cerbere Landing.
7. All contestants were to move to EU side and spawn on the northernmost flag.
8. Competition arena was the roof of the Command Center. Everyone was to climb there.
9. When everyone were on the roof, 'LIVE' was announced in the ingame chat
10. Knives only. If you disconnect or fall off the roof you lose.
11. Last man standing won a Northern Strike pack, and must disconnect before next round.
12. One new contestant may join the server when the winner disconnects.
13. Three rounds were played.

And I must say I was packed with adrenaline like never before. People said they were shaking after the event.

that sounds cool i wish i owend a server to let you host it on but o well i wish they would do this on the wc3 css: server

If you read the rules that are set by EA, hosting a knives or pistols only server is not allowed.
There are servers that are out there that do knives only. But they run the chance of losing the ability to run a ranked server. EA usually shuts down the servers that do not follow their guidelines for being ranked.

oh and i played one map of pistol and knives because my friend wanted some quick points... ya 60 knives 10 deaths.

Of course the tournament would happen on a private server, password protection is not allowed on ranked ones either.

I dont like that i get good whit warm up lol
How about knife team competition? You do teams of3. All your teamate die your team out. Last team standing win?? No beacon. Spawning on squad leader could be fun. Make the action longer
