I wanted to create a new thread about this. I was first introduced to EoD 0.2 at a LAN party, and I immediately loved it. Whereas DC was all about the vehicles, EoD had the right mix between infantry and vehicle combat. And the WWII theme was already flogged to death.
I've played various types of FPS games online, e.g. UT, UT2K4, Q3A, RTCW:ET, TFC, AHL, CS:S, DX .... and I can honestly say that EoD is one of the
best FPS games I've played online, even though it is a mod.
If you're at this forum, it's because Ninjaserve EoD was
the EoD server (apologies to the other servers, but it's true). Good ping, well-adminstered, always populated, high player limit.
I will start the ball rolling, by sending $50 to Gary Spivey - I mean, Horsepower. I understand that not everyone here has the same means, but
give what you can afford. We have less than 3 days!!

If you're interested in keeping the EOD server up and would like to donate, send me a private message with the amount you'd be willing to donate. If we get enough pledges for either a new server or the old one, I'll make a Paypal account. I'll then notify this community of the Papypal account address, and expect anyone who said they would donate to deposit that amount.
Once we actually received the amount pledged for a server, I'll announce to the community that we have enough for a server, either old or new. Should we not receive the total amount needed, I will refund the amount you donated, minus the service fee Paypal charges(3% i think, not sure).
This is a process that will need to take place every month to pay for the server. Any amount in excess of what's needed to pay for that month's server rental will be applied to next months rental fees. I'm not interested in stealing your cash. We can make this as transparent as you guys would like. I want to make this very clear though. Your donation is a donation of appreciation. Donating to this server will not get you admin on it nor will it buy you influence. We don't sell admin on servers.
I figure that we have about 3 days before the hard drive on the old server is wiped. I'd like to hear from you before then.
